The WIORA Awards

With the NFL season almost over, I decided that it was time to have the WIORA awards for the NFL. Getting a WIORA is like a little child getting a lollipop from a candy store; it's special and it really represents what ought to happen. So here we go...

Best QB: Michael Vick- Eagles
Comment: While Vick isn't the best statistical QB (Tom Brady is), he missed a 4th of it to Kevin Kolb and still is among the elite in the NFL in terms of QB rating, yards and clutch plays.

Best RB: Jamaal Charles- Chiefs
Comment: Charles is averaging 6.4 yards per carry, 14 carries a game, and yet still is 2nd in rushing yards so far this season. In fact he is the only RB in the top 10 (in terms of yards) who will not eclipse 250 carries this season! That deserves my #1 spot...

Best WR: Roddy White- Falcons
Comment: White has over 100 receptions, over 1000 yards, and is almost at 10 TDs this season (with 9.) He has shown clutch plays and consistency throughout this season. The Falcons are 12-3 this season due in large part to the passing game and Roddy White.

Best TE: Jason Witten- Cowboys
Comment: Witten has almost 100 receptions (96), almost 1,000 yards (956) and almost 10 TDs (with 8.) Plus, he is one of the slowest players on the field. His blocking is also very good and clearly, with Dallas at 5-10, deserves this spot.

Best OL: Giants
Comments: Despite having multiple injuries, the Giants have proved great depth at the offensive line. Eli has only been sacked 16 times and the Giants have been able to eclipse 2,000 rushing yards this season. This, however, is the only consistency with the Gmen.

Best DE: John Abraham- Falcons
Comment: Abraham has 13 sacks, 2 FF, 4 PDF and 1 INT so far this season and that could change in week 17. He has been great at applying pressure and dropping back into coverage. He is clearly the most deserving of this award.

Best DT: Ndamukong Suh- Lions
Comment: Suh has shown all of the talent that he was projected to have this season, and then some. He has 9 sacks, 1 FF, 3 PDF and 1 INT. He is the best player that the Lions have had since Barry Sanders and will certainly make a run at being simply the best player on the Lions.

Best OLB: TIE- OLB DeMarcus Ware- Cowboys and OLB Cameron Wake- Dolphins
Comment: Both players have shown so much dominance at the position that it is impossible to pick just one. While Wake has 14.5 sacks compared to Ware's 12.5, Ware has more tackles and QB pressures than Wake. Both players have been able to change offensive game plans and both equally deserve this award.

Best MLB/ILB: Patrick Willis- 49ers
Comment: Willis has over 120 tackles (128), 6 Sacks, 2 FF and 5 PDF all in a season where the 49ers have been awful. He has been the only shining start on this team and has shown that while defense wins chanmpionships, offense has to help win games.

Best CB: Asante Samuel- Eagles
Comment: Samuel has played in only 10 games and has 7 INT and 25 tackles. In the 5 games that he has picked off a pass, the Eagles are 4-1. While he hasn't forced a fumble or sacked the QB, he has almost 20 PDFs (19).

Best FS: Ed Reed- Ravens
Comment: Reed has 1 FF and 6 INTs while only playing in 9 games. He may be the best defensive back in the NFL right now and certainly has helped the Ravens clinch a playoff spot. He also has 13 PDFs.

Best SS: Troy Polamalu- Steelers
Comment: Shocker here! Polamalu has 6 INTs, 1 sack, and 1 FF. He has help lead the #1 Steeler Defense to another great season. His great ball hawking skills and hard hits have made him one of the top defenders in the NFL as well.

Best K: Rob Bironas- Titans
Comment: Bironas has made 22 of 23 FGs this season with a long of 55 yards. While the Titans haven't played in many close games, Bironas has had some pressure and has outdone everything that he has been expected to do.

Best Coach: Andy Reid- Eagles
Comment: reid made some great coaching decisions throughout this season. Whether it was benching his starting QB for an ex-convict, calling great deep throws and trusting his defense with elaborate blitzes, Reid has shown what coach of the year is really all about.

Mr. Consistency- QB Tom Brady- Patriots
Comment: Brady, throughout the entire season, has been many adjectives (awesome, magical) but none that describe him more than consistent. He has only thrown 4 INTs and has shown great poise and deserves this great praise.

Mr. Inconsistent- QB Kyle Orton- Broncos
Comment: These two games speak for themselves:
Week 10 against the division winning chiefs: 22/34 296 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INTs
Week 14 against the 4th in NFC west Cards: 19/41 166 yards, 0 TDS, 3 INTs

Biggest Surprise- Arian Foster- Texans
Comment: Arian Foster leads the league in rushing yards, has almost 16 TDs (14) and averages 4.9 yards a carry despite being a starter for the first time in his career and playing on a terrible Texans team.

Biggest Demise- The Dallas Cowboys
Comment: going 5-10 after a season of 11-5 and first playoff win isn't what makes this a demise. The demise is that the defense has allowed more points than any in franchise history and yet the Cowboys have lost all 3 games under Jason Garret by a combined 7 points! Jerry Jones' biggest off season job will be to fix the mentality of this team.

Rookie of the Year: CB Devin McCourtey- Patriots
Comment: The reason why the Patriots are 13-2 is because they are not allowing big plays and the biggest factor of that is Devin McCourty. He has 6 INTs, 1 sack and 2 FFs. But most impressively he has 15 PDFs. Great job by the rookie!

Best Game of the Year: Thanksgiving Day Game: Saints-30 Cowboys- 27
Comment: Yet another amazing game on Thanksgiving by the Cowboys; Jason Garrett had his hands full after the Cowboys were down 20-6 at halftime. Everything fell into place as the America's Team of old usually did until Roy WIlliams fumbled the ball on what should have been the game winning play. But Brees drove the Saints down the field and threw a perfect pass to Lance Moore in the back of the endzone to complete an amazing game.

Best Play of the Year: David Garrard's Hail Mary
Comment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRLiGb5Li00&feature=related

MVP: Michael Vick- Eagles
Comment: No question here- Vick has been a truly amazing player. He has led the Eagles to an epic season and has shown why everyone deserves a second chance. He has been a great mix between a Randall Cunningham and a Troy Aikman.

Happy Thanksgiving Break

Hello all,

First I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe thanksgiving! I have a lot to be thankful for and I hope you do to.

Over this long break, I have noticed a couple of really interesting things that I wanted to point out:

1. USHER CONCERT- 9/10- A very entertaining performance. Trey Songz is the better singer of the 2 but Usher is such an entertainer that it overshadowed those few missed notes. Usher flew onto the stage which was pretty cool. Its hard to explain but he flew over the floor seats onto the stage. He also did a song in mid air. The reason why this wasn't a 10/10 is because there were times were it lagged on. Also, the most interesting song I would say was DJ got us falling in love again. Usher doesn't sing most of it so when he performs it, it is pretty awkward. He brought in this really annoying DJ to try and cover up this but they need to work out something that is better. Overall though, I would recommend this concert to anyone who likes Usher/rap.

2. Hp7- 9/10- Let me preclude this review by saying that I didn't read any of the books and have no idea what is going to happen so please be nice and don't spoil the ending for me or any other people like me by commenting what happens at the end or coming up to me and telling me what happens- With that being said, I thought the movie was extremely well made. It was, however, a bit sad at times. But it did make a great ending so, we will have to wait and see for part 2.

Top 20 Beatles Songs

The greatest band to ever assembled was the Beatles. This was for 3 main reasons:
1. Each one of their members was a superstar in their self.
2. Each one provided a different element that collectively lead to some great songs.
3. Their legacy still lives 40 years later.

So, to honor them is my top 10 Beatles songs: (song, album, year)

20. Hey Bulldog- Yellow Submarine- 1968
An extremely underrated song by most, it deserves a spot for the fun and enthusiasm evident in the song.

19. Taxman- Revolver- 1966
This is George Harrison's breakout song- and it is obvious after listening why.

18. Please, Please me- Hard Day's Night- 1964
A very early song by the band but nonetheless a very good song.

17. Paperback Writer- Single- 1965
This is a defining song for the Beatles transitioning from the "Lads from Liverpool" to the "Meditating Era"

16. All you need is love- Single- 1967
The message is stong as is the execution of it.

15. Baby You're a Rich Man- 1967- Magical Mystery Tour-
Also an underrated song, but its catchy and has a nice beat.

14. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band- 1967- Sgt. Pepper's Lonley Heart's Club Band
Many people think that this song should go higher, but 14 is a perfect placement for this song.

13. Rain- Single- 1965
This is a great song and has over time become more and more popular with me

12. Got to get you into my life- 1965- Revolver
This "controversial" song deserves a spot at #12 for sure.

11. In my life- Rubber Soul- 1965
An emotional song that has stayed with the best of them

10. Strawberry Fields Forever- Single- 1967
"Living is easy with easy with eyes closed"

9. Lady Madonna- Single- 1968
"see how they run"

8. Yesterday- Single- 1964
The second most covered song in the history of music:
"I long for yesterday"

7. Let it Be- 1969- Let it Be
"I wake up to the sound of music"

6. While my guitar gently weeps- 1968- The White Album
"Still my guitar gently weeps"

5. Penny Lane- Single- 1968
"Penny Lane is in my years and in my eyes"

4. Here Comes the Sun- Abbey Road- 1969
"Here comes the sun and i say it's alright"

3. A Day in the Life- 1968- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
too many great quotes to put one up

2. Hey Jude- 1967- Single
"The movement you need is on your shoulder"

1. Revolution- 1968- The White Album

Inception vs. The Dark Knight

Hey all,

So I assume that everyone that likes movies has seen Inception. And let me just say this before I continue: at the end of the movie when the top is spinning and you don't know if it is going to fall over or keep spinning: it falls over. The reason why I know this is that when Cobb is in a dream the top spins without any change in gravity whereas at the end when it keeps on spinning, it wobbles enough to where there would have to be a change in gravity for it to wobble in the dream. And there wasn't a change in gravity because the rest of the room was still.

But anyways, Christopher Nolan has recently directed 2 of the best movies ever in The Dark Knight and Inception. They are really 2 very different movies. One is about the moral philosophy that humans make between doing what is right vs. what is good in the Dark Knight and the other is about the philosophy of how our subconscious can describe us better than we can. But there is enough ground to compare the two and at the end, WHICH WAS BETTER?

The first issue is Character Development.

As we see in the Dark Knight, the entire movie is based upon character development especially that of Batman and Bruce Wayne. At first, we see Batman trying to mold the Joker into his own game with rules and good cop bad cop when they are trying to find Harvey Dent. But clearly by the end, Batman has evolved into "The Dark Knight" by playing down to the Jokers level. While this isn't considered a good choice for Batman's publicity, it is the right choice for the city of Gothem. Bruce Wayne at the beginning is a determined to get Rachel from Harvey but also he KNOWS he will get her eventually. When Rachel dies, he no longer felt that it would have happened. Obviously the biggest change was Harvey Dent changing from "Gothem's last hope" to a half man- half monster.

As we see in Inception, the ONLY character that EVER changes in the movie is Cobb. But before we start let me point out something that I found quite interesting about character development. Fisher in the movie has a huge development by wanting to split up his fathers empire, but that was planned by the inceptionists (cobb, arthur, etc.) Character Development is a UNEXPECTED development in a characters mood or actions. Cobb's change was letting go of his wife and having to comfront her in his dream. And while this is huge, it would have been nice to see some other focus' like that of the Dark Knight.

So, Character Development goes to: THE DARK KNIGHT

Next is Special Effects.

The Dark Knight has some pretty awesome effects in the movie. Everything from buildings blowing up to car chases makes this movie one of the best action movies of all time. Most notably, when Batman captures Lao from his office, it was a great combination of suspense, action and plot. There was NOTHING that this movie could have done better in terms of special effects.

Inception has some pretty awesome special effects as well. They had car chases and buildings blowing up but they had the added extra as well that has to be taken into account. The idea of designing dreams and all of the different structures of a dream amazed me while watching this movie. One of the coolest things I have ever seen in any movie is when Ariadne (ellen page), decides to put the streets on top of each other.

So, Special Effects goes to INCEPTION.

Finally, and most importantly, is Plot.

The Dark Knight is so in depth that I have seen the movie 6 times and still feel that there are parts of the movie I have yet to fully understand. The intricacies of the plot are incredible. There is the main plot of corse with Batman and Bruce Wayne trying to stop the Joker. Then there is the triangle of love between Rachel, Harvey Dent and Bruce Wayne. There is the in depth analysis of Lt. Gordon and his battle against the mob including the Joker. Then there is a whole other plot about the Joker's life story and yet another about how long Bruce Wayne will continue being Batman and who Gothem's next hero will be. So overall, there is a lot of Plot development in The Dark Knight.

Inception has one very in depth story that it tells well. The levels of the dreams and how to convince Fisher to destroy his father's empire. The other part of that story is Cobb's life and his wife but that to me is more character development rather than actual Plot. But really that is it. Every other characetr is pretty meaningless in terms of background and in depth analysis maybe besides Saito and Fisher. That doesn't make this movie any worse but I wish I could see into lives of more of these characters.

So Plot goes to The Dark Knight.

These may easily be the 2 best movies I have ever seen and both are very well made. But in terms of which is better, I would have to go with The Dark Knight. But in terms of uniqueness, I would have to go with Inception. Please feel MORE THAN FREE to comment on this post if you agree or disagree.

Top 10 Movies that WILL BECOME classics

THIS IS A LIST OF GREAT MOVIES OF OUR TIME THAT WILL BE CLASSICS.

10. Anchorman-2004
This is one of the greatest comedies of all time. If you haven't seen it, I would recommend it for a saturday night with the guys. Or if you are a girl, this would be perfect for a G.N.O.

9. The Bourne Series- 2002-2007
Action packed, adventureified and of coarse a little bit of romance thrown in, this is one of the best trilogies of all time. Matt damon is a super star and this is a good saturday or sunday movie watching party for an all day event.

8. The Shrek Series- 2001-2007
This is maybe the greatest cartoon series of all time. It is genius and it's subtle adult humor mixed in with the obvious slapstick makes this both a great movie for a child's b-day as well as a family fun night.

7. No Country for Old Men- 2007
This movie is a life changer. Its intense plot mixed with its action/adventure leaves people awe struck. And it is perfect for a dinner and a movie with your date.

6. Bruce Almighty- 2003
The best comedy of the decade once again features steve carrel but this time it is with Jim Carrey. This is a great movie for all situations just make sure there is a bathroom near by.

5. The Twilight Series- 08 and 09
Okay so they aren't the best movies ever made but they have swooped the nation. These movies have changed the way that people view America which to me is significant enough to put them in the top 5. Girls and guys alike can watch this movie because there is Edward and Jacob for the girls, and Bella for the guys.

4. The Lord of the Rings Series- 2001- 2003
This intenese trilogy gets plenty of attention but to me, not enough. They have kind of vanished from the media after the last one. Nonetheless, these movies are also great movies for a rainy saturday when you have nothing better to do.

3. Slumdog Millionaire- 2008
Many people believe that this movie is in the top movies of all time. It is hard to argue that because it really is a moving and heartfelt movie that will make you "jai ho" over it. It is a great movie for any time. But warning to all the people that see it, you may get an impression that India is just a bunch of slums. It actually is very beautiful, it just doesn't show it in the movie.

2. The Harry Potter Series- 01- 09
Wow, talk about a series that has everything, This has action, adventure, romance, friendship, evil, good, beauty, disgust. death and happiness. You feel like you know these characters as well as you know your family by the sixth movie. It also does pretty well in the box office as well. Harry Potter is one of those series that our great grandkids will love and watch as we do.

1. The Dark Knight- 2008
Any actor will tell you that for 2 hours and 32 minutes of your life, Heath Ledger performs one of the greatest performances of all time. I think that it is the greatest. And the irony is that they are several other parts that are so good in this movie. Harvey Dent is beautiful. Maggie Gillinhall is brilliant. This is my favorite movie of all time and i think that this is one of those special moments in the history of film. Why so serious?

Summer Success

Good morning to America! Good Afternoon to Europe! And Good Evening to Antarctica! Wherever you may be, I hop that you are having a good time!

And how could you not? Its SUMMER! Time to put another shrimp on the Barby, watch some fireworks ya know all of the soak up the summer sun stuff (oh try saying that 10 times fast!)

But when I woke up this morning I thought to myself "What am I going to do with myself today?" While the endless options flooded my head, I realized it was time to start blogging.

So my question for all my viewers is; What makes a good summer?

For me there are three types of good summers:

1. The Lazzy summer: you don't have to go to Spain to have a great summer- a nice day by the pool is really really cool.

2. The "Project" Summer: Some people like to get a job other likes to build a boat (BP my man!)

3. The Vacation summer: "Iv'e been to london, I've been to paris even way out there to Tokyo. Back home down to Georgia to new orleans but you always steal the show."

To me the best summer is the combination of all three but if I had to choose one: it would be #2. But what would you choose?

Now you Know

I woke up this morning and didn't feel like P diddy so I decided to blog...

I was taking a shower last night and started to think "you know if I'm gonna update every day, I think people may want to know about who I really am." So, i thought it would be nice of me to tell you 10 things that u have to take into consideration any time that you read one of my opinionated posts.

10. When I get older, I will be stronger, they'll call me freedom, just like a wavin' flag

9. If football was a girl, I'd marry her. If it was a guy, we would have a bromance. If it was a hero, i'd idolize it. If it was a child, I would prodogize it.

8. The party don't start till I walk in. Just ask anyone who has been to a party with me.

7. I play only two video games- Sims 3 and Madden

6. I probably have the best playlist on my I tunes.

5. If there was one adjective to describe me: it would be fantastic.

4. Many people laugh BECAUSE of me

3. I Debate to debate- and no that is not redundant

2. I love life

1. Most girls call me Mr. Flinstone which is pretty impressive because I have a tempurpedic

Harry Potter Pick Up Lines

Here are the pickup lines.... i don't think you'll get some of them (i
don't get them either) but have.... fun. don't try these at home. :)

i have them labeled: * means it's pretty bad.... like, bad references,
** means i like it b/c it's cute, and the rest are either too
confusing or not interesting or whatever.

*Have you heard of Platform 9 and 3/4? Well, I can think of something
else with the exact same measurements.

If you were a Dementor, I'd become a criminal just to get your kiss.

My name may not be Luna, but I sure know how to Lovegood!

**I know we're not in Professor Flitwick's class, but you still are charming.

My love for you burns like a dying phoenix.

Being without you is like being afflicted with the Cruciatus Curse.

*Hagrid's not the only giant on campus, if you know what I mean.

*Your name must be Severus Severus, because you're making my prince full blood.

*Interested in making some magic together? My wand is at the ready.

I must have had some Felix Felicis, because I think I'm about to get lucky.

Without you I feel like I'm in Azkaban and dementors are sucking away my soul.

*I've been whomping my willow thinking about you.

If I were to look into the Mirror of Erised, I'd see the two of us together.

*You are like a bottle of Skele-Gro: You're growing me a bone.
(skelegro in harry potter is something that grows back parts of your
skeleton...)

**You must be magical, because I've fallen under your spell.

I'm not wearing an invisibility cloak, but do you think I could still
visit your restricted section tonight?

*I'd like to get my basilisk into your chamber of secrets.

You don't even have to say "Luminos Maxima" to turn me on!

*Have you been using the Petrificus Totalus spell? Because you've made
me stiff.

Whaddya say you and me go look for the Room of Requirement?

*Do you want to head to the Shrieking Shack? We could do some
shrieking of our own.

**Are you using the Confundus charm or are you just naturally mind blowing?

*Come on, let's do it Hippogriff style! (i don't get this one, but
apparently urmilla gets it; she wouldn't tell me so i guess it's
pretty bad... idk. maybe you get it.)

*One night with me and they'll be calling you MOANING Myrtle.

**You can have the portkey to my heart.

Come here, I'll show you a REAL Patronus.

*I'd let you handle my wand any day!

*Is that a wand in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

Great lyrics, great sound, greatness! This song should win every award at the grammys.

The start, the beginning, the opening act

I decided to blog for three reasons:

1. I think I have good ideas.
2. I want people to talk about my good ideas
3. I want to know what people think about my good ideas.

So, some of my interests that will be on my blog:

1. Football
2. Philosophy

4. "Top Ten" lIsts
And basically anything else that comes into my head
